Upcoming in Gray Wolves Volleyball: Lourdes takes the road for the first time in the 2013 season on Friday evening as the Gray Wolves travel to Fort Wayne, Ind. to battle the Mastodons of IPFW.  This will be the first match ever for Lourdes facing a NCAA Division I opponent in men's volleyball and just the second in school history.

Head Coach Greg Reitz: In his second season both on the Lourdes bench, and overall coaching men's volleyball, Greg Reitz has a 17-11 (.607) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves.  He was named to the MAMVIC East Coach of the Year in 2012.  Reitz is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Series Notes: This will be the first meeting on the volleyball court between the Gray Wolves and the Mastodons.  In fact, this will be the first time Lourdes and IPFW face each other in intercollegiate competition in any sport..

Scouting IPFW: The Mastodons saw their two-match winning streak come to an end on Saturday evening, falling in five sets at NJIT.  Eddie Rivera leads IPFW with 46 kills on the season Omar Rivera has handed out 137 assists and a team-high 24 digs.  Ramon Burgos has registered 16 blocks already on the season.  The match against Lourdes is IPFW's final non-conference tilt before playing eight straight MIVA contests.

Lourdes Wins First Season Openers: The Gray Wolves victory over Robert Morris (Ill.) on Friday evening marked Lourdes first season-opening win in program history.  In 2012, the program's inaugural season, Lourdes dropped their first two matches of the season, both against #1 Saint Ambrose.

Serving Up Aces: Lourdes leads all MAMVIC schools in service aces per set through the early portion of the season, averaging 1.43 per set.  As a team the Gray Wolves have registered 10 total aces, with four each from Chris Lockwood and Oliver Cizmazia.  Cizmazia and Lockwood are tied for the nation's individual lead averaging 0.57 per set.

Getting Defensive: Brad Miller has made his mark on the Gray Wolves defense since arriving from Mount Saint Joseph at the semester break.  The sophomore has already tallied a team-high 21 digs, averaging 3.0 per set, second best in the country to date.

Transfers Swing Well in Lourdes Debut: Junior college transfers Trevor Lund and Chris Lockwood led the way for the Gray Wolves in their Lourdes debut last Friday against Robert Morris (Ill.).  Both players tallied double figure kill marks with 11 and 10 respectively.  Lund hit .391 for the match while Lockwood posted a .500 hitting percentage.

DiMarco Has Big Night: Nick DiMarco recorded 17 kills in the victory over Cardinal Stritch on Saturday afternoon.  The double figure kill total was his first in 2013 after recording 10 or more kills in 16 of 23 matches in which he played one year ago.

.200 the Magic Number?: When Lourdes hit at least .200 as a team in a set last weekend the Gray Wolves won the set.  In the three sets in which Lourdes lost, the team hit under .100 for that set.

Captains Named: Senior Nick DiMarco and junior Trevor Lund have been named team captains for the 2013 season.  DiMarco led the Gray Wolves with 342 kills one season ago and will be a two-time team captain.  Lund will be in his first season at Lourdes after transferring in from Irvine Valley College.

New Faces: Of the 13 players on the 2013 roster, only six return from last season.  Nick DiMarco and Zander Epps are the lone seniors on this year's squad, which also features four freshmen and three transfers.

Jumping Into Conference Action: Lourdes will play MAMVIC East matches in eight of their first 10 contests this season, including the first two of the year last weekend.  The Gray Wolves also have a stretch of nine straight non-conference contests on the slate, but that stretch of matches will not begin until Feb. 23.

Facing NCAA Division I Opponents: In the second year of men's volleyball, the match at IPFW will mark Lourdes first contest against a NCAA Division I opponent in the sport.  With the athletic program in existence for only the third year, the Gray Wolves women's basketball became the first team to face a NCAA Division I foe earlier this year when Lourdes traveled to Detroit.

This and That: Oliver Cizmazia had four service aces in his collegiate debut with the Gray Wolves on Friday against Robert Morris (Ill.) ... Cizmazia also averaged 9.14 assists per set over the opening weekend ... Lourdes held Robert Morris to a .028 hitting percentage in the first victory of the season.
